Unfortunately, he got that right. Those who fight pits will continue to arrange fights, from the large "conventions" (where police look the other way) attended by pastors, doctors, lawyers, to the local rings, to the one-on-one spontaneously arranged fights between neighbors, friends, enemies. These fights will continue, as long as these tenacious dogs are being produced and are available.
So make it illegal to breed them! No responsible pit owner is punished, as her dogs are spays/neuters. If a boxer mix is misidentified, no problem, spay that dog. Many who are attracted to the vicarious power, aggression and virility that pit bulls provide will not own any dog if it must be spayed/neutered, so no dog will suffer under that ownership.
