I totally agree with the others on the prey drive theory

I totally agree with the others on the prey drive theory. I'm a new mom too and our pup will chase our two year old and bite the wheel of his power wheels and anything else that spins. We have been correcting her constantly. On the issue of you being upset because of where the child was is total crap. That child was in a public park in a common area. You as a responsible dog owner have the duty to have control 100 percent. If you need to play the blame game first look at the person controlling the dog. The leash should be in your total control within the car before the door opens. Bring the dog out through the door where your exiting or have a dog crate in your vehicle and have leash control before opening the crate. I know it's hard to hear but it's a sound solution to prevent your dog from doing exactly what it did. Our dogs are at a disadvantage because of the way society looks at them so all the more reason to take extra care when in public. I was attacked by a dog when I was a child. I was at a birthday party and was sitting quietly eating cake. The dog broke a thick metal chain and mauled me. It wasn't the owners fault. My parents didn't sue but the owner put the dog down because the dog could no longer be controlled or trusted. Sorry to say but the blame is on you and you need to own it.
